American Water Announces Several Changes in its Leadership Team
Kellye Walker, Mark Strauss, and Sharon Cameron take on new roles
American Water Works Company, Inc. (NYSE: AWK), the largest investor-owned U.S. water and wastewater utility company, recently announced that it has made several changes to its leadership team.
Kellye Walker, the company's former senior vice president, general counsel and secretary, has expanded her role and has been named American Water's new chief administrative officer (CAO) and general counsel. In this role, Walker will continue to lead the company's legal team, but will now also oversee human resources, communications and information technology services.

New EPA Policy Focuses on Infrastructure Planning, Funding
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a Clean Water and Drinking Water Infrastructure Sustainability Policy with the goal of increasing the sustainability of water and wastewater infrastructure in the United States. Communities across the country are facing challenges in making costly upgrades and repairs to their aging water infrastructure, which include sewer systems and treatment facilities.

Aqua Pennsylvania Celebrates $20 Million of Improvements to its Largest Water Treatment Facility
Aqua Pennsylvania, Inc., Chairman Nicholas DeBenedictis hosted local and state officials at the site of the company’s largest water treatment facility—the Pickering facility, which serves customers in Delaware, Chester and Montgomery counties—to unveil nearly $20 million of improvements recently made to the facility.

NAWC Welcomes Jean Smith
Jean Smith has joined National Association of Water Companies (NAWC) as executive assistant to Michael Deane, and will provide overall office and administrative support to the full NAWC staff. Smith comes to NAWC with extensive executive assistant experience in associations, most recently with the National Association of Manufacturers and including the American Public Works Association – so she knows something about water!

New Commissioner Joins Maine PUC
Commissioner David Littell was recently appointed to the Maine Public Utilities Commission. Until this appointment, Littell served as the Commissioner of the Maine Department of Environmental Protection for five years starting in 2005, and served two earlier years as Deputy Commissioner.
