2010 Management Innovation Awards

Setting the Stage
NAWC’s Management Innovation Awards Contest has been awarding members for their groundbreaking, industry-changing ideas for over 35 years. Today’s innovation is tomorrow’s industry standard. As NAWC, as an organization, “innovates” to adjust to the changes in the water industry, in 2010, for the first time, NAWC will accept entries from its members in the non-regulated field.

Recognition
If your company has instituted a new and innovative program, which has benefitted your company, your customers or the water industry as a whole, this is the time to share your idea, and get the credit for it! By participating in this competition, you can share your idea or program with other NAWC member companies and, at the same time, promote better water service, wider recognition of the industry and improved utility management.

Your entry could be in the area of administration, finance, engineering, operations, human resources, customer/consumer relations, public relations/information, or any related company activity, just as long as it has improved the operation of your utility in a significant manner.

To Enter
Prepare a succinct description of your management idea, program or innovation. Include a brief summary paragraph explaining the problem you were attempting to solve, the innovation you introduced to achieve the solution, and the benefit ultimately derived by the company. Indicate how and to what extent this innovation or program might be employed by other water companies and what benefits they could expect.

Please fill out the entry form and attach to your supporting materials Then send the entry form and four copies of your supporting materials to the attention of Mike Horner, NAWC, 2001 L St., Ste. 850, Washington, DC 20036.

Entries must be received by no later than September 3. You may submit more than one entry.

There will be at least a first prize and a second prize awarded. Depending on the number of entries, entry categories based on size of company may be established. Judges will be water industry professionals with a wide range of skills.
